Frontier technology powers Lidl’s Silvercrest Smart Audio devices
Frontier Silicon, a pioneer in technologies for consumer audio devices, has provided the latest version of its Venice 6.5 platform to power Lidl’s new range of Silvercrest Smart Audio products. Lidl is a successful international supermarket chain, with 10,000 stores across 27 countries.
Frontier’s Venice 6.5 provides a simple, cost-effective solution for high-quality audio streaming – equipping Silvercrest Smart Audio products with attractive streaming services targeting the entry-level price segment.
The Silvercrest range presents a series of six smart audio devices: three speakers, a sound bar, an adapter for connecting to a Hi-Fi system and a compact Internet radio (with DAB/DAB+ and FM).
Examples of the Silvercrest speaker range:
Frontier’s solution allows purchasers of Silvercrest Smart Audio products to stream a wide range of music services via Silvercrest's Smart-Audio-App (Deezer, Napster, Qobuz and Tidal) or Spotify Connect.
The key benefits of Silvercrest’s Smart Audio products (compared to Bluetooth speakers) are a more robust listening experience, genuine multi-room capabilities and interoperability with other devices which also use Frontier's UNDOK technologies.
Retailing at prices between EUR 60 and EUR 150, this range of devices allows consumers to create a wireless sound system just the way they want it.
Frontier also provides over-the-air software updates for all Silvercrest smart audio products
Prem Rajalingham, Chief Commercial Officer, Frontier Silicon, said:
“Silvercrest is an important brand in consumer audio and we are delighted to be providing technology for their Smart Audio devices. Our two organisations have a shared goal: great technologies at everyday prices.”
